I have struggled with GI issues for many years. Some related to specific diagnosed illnesses, some just inconsistent chronic problems. The list of foods I was restricting myself from was growing but the symptoms kept growing as well. My GI doctor continued to prescribe medications to help manage the symptoms. My world was shrinking as the number of digestive flares increased.
Rebecca listened to my concerns and recommended functional medicine testing to see if we could find a root cause. We also began making a few simple diet changes. Testing showed several things but most significantly a candida and bacterial overgrowth throughout my gut. And so began a several month protocol of supplements and diet changes to reset my system. I began to see results quickly as GI flares decreased in both frequency and intensity. Slowly my doctor decreased my medications until I was able to stop them all.
When I first began seeing Rebecca my list of limited foods was long - no wheat, dairy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish and leafy greens. As my gut healed, we introduced more foods creating a yes/no/maybe chart. I was surprised by the results. I have ended up with no foods that cause me immediate problems. Some foods I thought were safe turned out to be triggers and were added to the maybe list. My diet is now open to everything in moderation while maintaining primarily a clean diet of whole foods.
Along the way we also worked on habits, emotions, and triggers. Rebecca is a coach that exudes encouragement, grace, with practical steps to help you grow.
Today the years of food restrictions are gone and I can enjoy my life everyday without worrying about GI issues slowing me down

I am a true believer in the benefits of health coaches on my wellness journey. Becky is my 3rd and my life has changed significantly with each one. Before Becky, I learned how to get to a goal but I revert back to old behaviors once my goal is met. With Becky I am learning so much more about the "head game" of nutrition rather than rules of what/what not to eat.
My goal at the age of 56 has much less to do with weight but a desire to live with as few meds as possible, keep up with a teen granddaughter and live as active as possible. I have lost 10lbs without counting a calorie or measuring food but my real success is that I am doing much less "stress" eating because I am learning coping skills instead of relying on willpower. We don't use just one game plan but a variety of tools which keeps me motivated.
Becky cheered me on when I took up backpacking this summer and experienced my first solo overnight on the trail. She has helped me believe I have many adventures ahead and that anything is possible if I want to work hard for it. Her strong knowledge of nutrition and fitness are a great starting point for anyone but I encourage you to dream bigger and let Becky cheer you on to success, whatever that looks like for you.

I sought out Rebecca because I was interested in getting my health on track and curious to learn about her work doing HeartMath. I am 32 years old and have a long history of going up and down in my weight. I struggle with staying on track- eating healthy food, drinking water, and getting exercise. I donated a kidney to my uncle in November of 2020 to give him another chance at life. The surgery was successful and I am grateful, however, since then I gained some weight and lost sight of what I know in my heart is important to me (taking care of my body and mind).
